"Live quietly in the moment and see the beauty of all before you. The future will take care of itself..." I have studied the life instructions of Paramhansa Yogananda and appreciate his teachings. I am drawn to his direct approach in many of his statements and quotations. The quote in this picture is one I have been working on my entire life and still have not mastered.
It seems so simple to just be in the moment. I mean, how difficult can it really be? For me, pretty difficult. While in the midst of an experience, my mind is racing in a thousand different directions or I am busy looking at something on my phone (sometimes even related to the event), but I find that I am rarely fully, totally, completely present. Even in ministry I can find myself thinking so many random thoughts--what is happening next, who is doing something next, did I just say something silly or out of place, what if I forget the announcements. and on and on and on.
But I am working on it--working on me. Learning day-by-day to live in the moment and see the beauty that is before me instead of "looking" into the future. Living in the moment is the experience we came to this earthly plane to have. Committing myself to do better at being present and enjoying each moment.
